SATURDAYS

Plum on the Sun – Community Cafe

Visiting Chester? Walking the walls? Well this is a great little place to pop in to for refreshments. The café lounge has been well supported by the local community with opening times being Saturdays, 9am to noon. They offer a selection of barista style coffees and hot chocolate, pots of tea, home made cake and pastries in return for modest donations to cover costs. Please do pop along to: Uniting Church in Garden Lane, 66 Garden Lane, Chester CH1 4EY (entrance via the Plum Terrace gate)

FRIDAYS

Helsby Friday Drop-in – every Friday (except Bank Holidays) 

Open to all – you will be very welcome! Pop in on a Friday (10am – 1pm) for a drink and a chat, a read of the newspaper, to play games or even do a spot of knitting! They offer hot drinks and biscuits and late morning delicious cheese toasties which are very popular! There is no charge for this but you are welcome to offer a donation if you wish. Registered as a Place of Welcome. On the last Friday of the month, OPAL (Older People Active Lives) runs a digital support session.

Wicksten Drive Coffee and Cake – last Friday of the month

At Wicksten Drive Christian Centre,  WA7 5DJ – 'Coffee & Cake' event is held on the last Friday of the month, 10am to 12 noon. All welcome.

THURSDAYS

Kelsall Barney's Buddies

Barney's Buddies meet every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 noon in the Methodist School Room. It's an informal drop in for babies, toddlers, parents, carers and grandparents. Everyone is always welcome. There's a fun play time for all to make new friends, craft time, stories and songs with Barney Bear and a healthy snack. Come along and join us. Small donations are appreciated.

Saltney Coffee and Chat

Thursday mornings, 10am to 11.30am, everyone is welcome to join us in the church hall for a cup of tea or coffee and some delicious cake. Come and enjoy a time to meet and chat together with friends. Address: High Street, Saltney, CH4 8SQ.

Tarvin Knit and Natter

Every Thursday at 1.30pm.

Saltney Chair Pilates

Join Seated Pilates at Saltney Methodist Church Hall every Thursday 1.30 – 2.30pm. No need to book. The class is led by Viv and is £3 per session. Just gentle exercise. Nothing strenuous.

Tarvin Soup Lunches

At midday on the first and third Thursdays of each month from September to May.

WEDNESDAYS

Frodsham Warm Welcome Stay, Play and Chat

Wednesday mornings, 9.30am to 11.30am. Crafts, toys, games and activities – or just relax and chat. All ages welcome, refreshments provided.

Kelsall Place of Welcome Cafe

There is a Place of Welcome Café at St. Philips Church Kelsall, every Wednesday 2-4pm.

TUESDAYS

Open door Community Cafe, Norley

Everyone is welcome to come along and try the delicious cakes, tea and coffee at the Open Door Cafe, at Norley Methodist Church. Each Tuesday, 10am – 12pm. No charge, donations only, if wished. A member of the Places of Welcome UK Network.

Coffee and Chat at The Hurst, Kingsley

Every Tuesday 10am to 12pm at The Hurst Methodist Church. All are welcome!

Halton Trinity Cafe 1:50

All are welcome to Cafe 1:50 at Halton Trinity Methodist Church, open every Tuesday morning, 9.30am – 12 noon, with free refreshments, newspapers, mini library, table games. Dog friendly. Part of the Places of Welcome UK Network.

Kelsall Community Lunch

A Community Lunch is held on the first Tuesday of every month at Kelsall Methodist Church, 12pm until 1.30pm.

MONDAYS

Saltney Methodist Baby and Toddler Group – Mondays term time

Children under 5 and their families are welcomed to the baby and toddler group at Saltney Methodist Church, on Monday mornings. The group meets in the church hall every Monday in termtime, 9.15am until 11am. £1 suggested donation includes a drink and a snack.

Helsby Methodist Stay and Play – Mondays term time

Come and join in the fun at Helsby Methodist Church on Monday mornings. Stay and Play Tots Sessions take place every Monday in term time (except bank holidays), from 9.30am until 11.30am. £2 per family for up to 2 children. £1 for every additional child. Includes a drink and snack.

SUNDAYS

Christleton Summer Teas

Christleton Churches Together turn the school room at Christleton Methodist Church into the Village Tea Room for the summer, serving delicious cakes and Fairtrade tea and coffee. The Summer Teas are on each Sunday from June to August, from 2.30 to 4.30pm.

Christleton Winter Teas

Come in and warm up at the Winter Teas at Christleton Methodist Church on Sunday 6th December, 2.30 to 4.30pm, running on the first Sunday of the month from October 2026 to May 2027. Donations to KidsBank Chester.
