Christleton Summer Afternoon Teas -every Sunday – between June and September, 2.30 to 4.30pm in the Schoolroom at Christleton Methodist Church with donations going to the Blood Bikes.

Plum on the Sun – Community Cafe in Chester
Visiting Chester over the summer? Walking the walls? Well this is a great little place to pop in to for refreshments. The café lounge has been well supported by the local community and will be resuming on Saturday 27th July and continuing throughout August and September. The opening days and times are: 9am to noon on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

They offer a selection of barista style coffees and hot chocolate, pots of tea, home made cake and pastries in return for modest donations to cover costs.

The Hurst Soup and Pudding Lunch
The next soup lunch at The Hurst, Kingsley, WA6 8BB, will be on Thursday 22nd August at 12:00 noon. Cost is £5.00. This will be in aid of the Kings Cross (Widnes) Christmas Hampers – it may sound early to think of Christmas, but by the following soup lunch it might be too late for this year! As usual, there will be a choice of soups, with bread and butter, a dessert with either custard or cream (as appropriate) followed by a hot drink. All are very welcome to attend for this social event while raising money for a very needy cause.
