Ministry beyond the Circuit
I continue to volunteer for the Embassy Bus homeless shelter project. This is a commitment roughly once a month as a volunteer team member spending the night helping on the bus. The project seeks to provide shelter for upto 12 homeless men, helping them to get work (or stay in work) and to find accommodation, with ongoing support to help them settle. (for more info visit
I am planning to be involved with 'We are the Church' at Creamfields in August. I participated in this last year and found it invigorating for my faith and gratifying work. If you're up for a challenge I can recommend it. Why not join in?
Helen and I are currently planning a mission trip, in conjunction with Cliff College, to take a group of methodist youth to Mexico, connecting with the Mexican Methodist Church to learn together about mission and ministry. We have secured 50% of the funding and are looking for the remaining funds.
Methodist Diaconal Order
Our Area group meets every couple of months; we also have a regional group meeting at the end of March, whilst Convocation, the Order's national four day gathering, occurs in May. Attending is part of the discipline of the Order, they are useful and inspiring meetings for prayer, sharing and conducting the business of the Order.
If you would like to know more about the work and the Methodist Diaconal Order, please contact me.
