Bretton Methodist Church dates from 1859 though Methodism was in evidence in the community before this. In 1830 the Methodist congregation at Bretton petitioned the House of Lords hoping they would adopt measures that would lead to the abolition of slavery and reform of Parliament. Today the small congregation meets for Worship at 11am on Sunday morning and anyone who wishes to join them will receive a warm welcome.
